From our Founder
For starters, if you knew today was going to be your last, you’d probably get out of your email..
Ok, maybe just a quick check, just to be sure nothing critical was going on… But then I think you’d shut the laptop one final time, never to be opened again.
And who would you call? Seriously. Who would you call?
I’d call my mom first. Or, actually, I’d call her last. Save her the stress of thinking about it all day. I would definitely call everyone in my immediate family (instructing them all to leave my mom alone until tomorrow).
And what would you do? Seriously. What would you do?
Would you go golfing? Maybe just a quick nine.. And with whom would you play? Solo? Your best friends? Your wife/husband/significant other?
What would you eat? Seriously. What would you eat?
I can guarantee you I won’t eat what’s on my diet right now (sardines and eggs for 30 days). Nope, I’d be having a fat, juicy cheeseburger.
But eating takes time so I think I’d just have one meal.
And how would you end the day? Watching netflix? Probably not. You’d be with friends or family, talking around a fireplace or a kitchen island, or a cozy living room.
I think I’ll be alive tomorrow and, I don’t think about mortality too often, but I like stuff like this.
I know, it’s kind of weird to think about. And I know you can’t “live every day like it’s your last”... But, I do like to think about it once in a while.
And, even though I don’t have every single thing I want, I feel like my last day on earth could be today and I’d live it almost exactly as I plan to.
I’d surf in the morning. I’d write, like I’m doing now. I’d have a meeting with Campbell (11:00 today). I’d go through each product in our forecast for 2026/2027 and do what I can to ensure they come out as good as they can. I do that on Monday’s anyway (today is Monday for me by the way). I’d mow the lawn or do a little work on the 4runner. Then draft a love letter to my best friends.
Finally, I’d see if my neighbors wanted to have cheeseburgers with Nicolle and me. Maybe a margarita.
I guess all of this is just to say, I’m grateful for you. I’m grateful to get to show up every day and do my best for the MNML team and for you, a golfer who deserves a great product at a fair price.
I don’t know if we say it enough. And if we do, I hope it doesn’t get old.
Thank you.
Gratefully,
Sam Goulden
PS. Live today like it’s your last day on earth
PPS. I didn’t use Ai for this email, please accept the humanity of it :)
