What I Love About My Job

What I Love About My Job

From our founder;

I love my job - and you probably love yours too :)

I read a bunch of books on management back in 2014, when I was trying to learn how to manage other people for work.

The main thing I remember from that time is: we all work because we feel we have to. Most of us don’t appreciate our jobs. But some people, the lucky ones, do.

Every single thing I do is related to a mission that I absolutely believe in. So, things that seem shitty support the mission. Things that seem fun support the mission. Things that I’m too tired to do support the mission. Sad things, happy things, boring things, inspiring things, all support the mission.

The mission of MNML GOLF is different from your mission (most likely). But that doesn’t mean you can’t love your job.

Does your job support your family? Does it support your dreams? Does it support your home that you love? Does it support others? Does it support your social life? Does it support your hobbies?

It must do some of those things. It must or you should probably find a new job.

Ok here’s mine:

I love my job because:

  • MNML GOLF is on a mission to question everything from business, to products, to advertising, to relationships and we are challenging the status quo. We make things that belong, that deserve to exist, that should exist. And we make them responsibly. And we don’t pressure or manipulate people to buy them.
  • I love that I have the opportunity to inspire others to be their best.
  • I love that I can influence others to challenge the status quo for the better.
  • I love working with our team and meeting new people who join our mission.
  • I love that I can work from anywhere.
  • I love that I can surf every morning.
  • I love designing minimalistic products.
  • I love my job for these and so many other reasons.

Ok now your turn. Do it. It will feel good I promise. Or, you’ll be on the hunt for a job you love… Either way. Do it.

Loving my job every day,

- Sam Goulden
