"I went back through my notes. It took forever but I found my first mention of the MR Mini (previously MP1, before that; MM1, and first recorded name idea: M1).
It seems like every bag takes a year. So, I’m not surprised that I started working with the factory on the MR Mini on 4-1-2025.
But I couldn’t have known then that a Masters Champion, Sergio Garcia, would be using it in the Par Three Contest almost exactly a year later.
It makes sense now. A mini bag for the par three contest. Hand-painted with his family’s names and styled to match the caddy bib his wife Angela will wear while carrying it.
But man, if you had told me all this a year ago... I wish I could see the reaction I would have had.
I think that’s one of the things that makes all the hard work worth it.
- Hundreds of emails with the factory (literally just sifted through all of them).
- Countless conversations with Chat GPT about what to name it.
- Call after call with Europe trying to decide on every single feature and placement.
- The removable clutch design
- Sample One
- Sample Two
- Sample Three
- Placing the first order of 100
Yeah I know that doesn’t seem like a lot but it FEELS LIKE IT to me!
And here we are, one year later. Sergio Gargia (Masters Champion) is unveiling a 1/1 MR Mini on the range before the par three contest. Oh and it will likely be on the broadcast.
I’m speechless.
I’m proud.
Guys, let’s all celebrate this together ok? You’ve been reading my emails for a while now (some of you for years) and you know what I care about.
This is a win for all of us. A win for a “Main Street” way of doing business. A win for transparency. A win for non-manipulative marketing.
Let’s root for Sergio Garcia because he was thoughtful enough to take time with me to give insights about the M TOUR.
